CP Charities would rate River City's volunteerism and charitable giving 4.5 stars. They make being good community stewards very important. They do this through numerous initiatives. These are, the Pinnacle Cares, Pinnacle Entertainment Foundation and Pinnacle Cares Giving Campaign.
Pinnacle Cares are employee volunteer's making a difference in the local community. The Pinnacle Entertainment Foundation seeks to support institutions that promote equal opportunity, advancement and recognition for groups in need. Pinnacle Cares Giving Campaign allows employees to donate to select national and local charities through payroll deduction. Pinnacle matches 25% of all employee pledges.
River city does a great job of being a good community steward. Through their Pinnacle Cares Initiative. Just in the year 2016 they have no less than five community volunteer programs they have worked on in the community.
Here are a few of the wonderful ways River City is giving back to the community.
River City partnered with the Lemay Housing Partnership to clean and refresh some of the areas in need in the Lemay neighborhood.
In June of this year, River City held its first Steps For A Better Tomorrow campaign to support Feed My People Food Drive. Food donation bags and information were delivered to over 400 homes. Feed My People is a Christian inter-denominational food pantry, help center and thrift stores that serve the people of South St Louis.
Last year River City also made a very nice donation of $9,000 to Feed My People for two new gates to help with problems involved with trespassing, illegal dumping, and overnight parking. This was done through the Pinnacle Entertainment Foundation
In honor of earth day, River City team members volunteered at the Carondelet Park Rec YMCA Complex to help with landscaping around their outdoor Aquatic Center. It was a great day to show the YMCA Pinnacle Cares. Our handwork saved the YMCA more than $2000.
In April River City helped the Ronald McDonald house by preparing meals for families in need.
According to the Missouri Gaming Association River City has made charitable contributions of $29,832.
A few areas River City can improve on with their community giving is in charitable donations. Their volunteerism is great but actual charitable donations are not on the same level.
CP Charities donation system could bring in approximately $15,000 - $20,000 every month, from patrons donating their change. This would be a great addition to all the wonderful programs River City is already involved with.
